During this quarantine/shelter at home, the hardest thing I have found is ways to constantly motivate myself to move my body. Prior to shelter in place, I was doing Orange Theory 5-6 times a week. It was easy to motivate myself to go because if I signed up for classes and didn’t go I paid for it. Which I found to be the best motivation to get my butt in the gym everyday. Now without that push, it has been a little bit of a struggle to do at home workout’s.
The best thing I have found to get me excited to workout at home is the workout programs itself. There are 100’s of at home workout’s but unless your invested in either the program or the instructor, then it’s not going to excite you to want to do them. Having a day by day workout plan mapped out for me helps me not think about what I have to do. These are at home workout programs I am drawn too!
I have rounded up 5 most motivating at home workout’s and put them into a list for you to utilize or try something new! Even moving your body for 30 minutes can change your mindset, your health, your stress level, etc. With everything going on in the world, I have been able to use these short at home workout’s as a way to escape for a moment and focus on what I am doing in the moment.
Even if I don’t do a full workout, I love to get a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood in. It is refreshing and get’s you outside. With not being able to go anywhere this has been one of my favorite things to do in the morning or evening!

- Sculpt Society: If you follow me on Instagram, then you have seen me talk about the Sculpt Society many times! The workout was created by Megan Roup who is so motivating to watch. I love that her workouts are fun and want to get you moving. She is the one that work’s out on Instagram using can’s of beans since hand weights are so hard to find right now! I am by no mean’s a dance but her dance cardio workout’s are so much fun. Took me a while to figure how to move my body but it’s so fun when you get the full dance routine down!
- Sweat App: I have used the Sweat App for years! It actually all started with BBG, Beach Body Guide, by Kayla Itsines back in high school when I bought the PDF. I used that guide through college and then she came out with her app. The workout’s are so good because they are all structured and timed for you. I have done both BBG and BBG Stronger a number of times and truly do see results from them!
- Orange Theory Youtube Video’s: I shared at the beginning that I was doing Orange Theory 5-6 times a week so I was really excited to see them transition to provide at home workout’s as well. They are instructed and structured the same as a class which made transitioning to them a lot easier! I love that the instructors are motivating as well plus they show instructors from all over the country.
- Tone It Up: The Tone It Up girls are super motivating and provide more than just workout’s. They also provide nutritional guides as well. Their app has so many different workout options including, yoga, arms, abs, weight exercises, etc. It is a great one stop shop for literally everything health! I have used their app a number of times and find their work outs to be so encouraging.
- Peloton App: While we would all love to afford a really expensive Peloton bike right now, it’s just really out of the budget. But they have an app that provides more than just cycle classes! Before all this, I used the app when I would go to the gym and cycle on their bikes. You don’t really need a Peloton bike to do their cycle classes. Now I use the app to do their running exercises and quick 30 minute work out’s. The one thing that really gets me excited about the app, is the live classes! It helps give you that energy that others are working out right now in that moment with you!
