We are half way through the week!! And trust me, I am already checking out… who else is with me?? I, also, find myself checking out right after lunch as well. Which makes it hard to push through the day. I have been looking for little ways to motivate myself towards the end of the working day!
I am such a morning person so I can normally motivate myself to get up, get ready and get going but after lunch I feel like I am always dragging. I did a little bit of research plus asked what y’all do to get over the afternoon blues on instagram and wanted to share that here! Below I have listed all of the recommendations y’all had plus others I could find!!
- Get moving! This was the most recommended!! Sometimes we forget we have been sitting all day long so stand up and go walk around. Best to get outside but if you can’t then do a lap around the building!
- Consume some protein instead of carbs! Instead of reaching for that unhealthy snack to get you through the day, try packing a protein bar or some nuts. I know its not as appealing as a Kit Kat but it will help recharge your body.
- Take 15 minutes to yourself! I love this one and need to try it more often. I think that if you are more productive after taking some time to yourself then it’s worth it. Instead of sitting at your desk suffering, go sit in a common area read an article or do something for yourself. This would be a great time to create a To-Do list for the evening.
- Try having small meals! This is something I do instead of going from eating breakfast at 7:30am to waiting till noon to eat lunch. I have a granola bar, an apple, a banana, and a sandwich in my lunch box and eat each one when I am starting to feel my tummy growl.
- Have some afternoon tea! I really enjoy having some tea and it’s really easy to bring to work. It gives you some caffeine in the afternoon and adds a little pep in your step.
Hope all these ideas are helpful yall! Maybe I am the only one who struggles with this haha! It’s hard when you are in back to back meetings and the you go to lunch and have more meetings and then you are falling asleep not paying attention haha. Okay maybe that is just me…
This checked skirt, sweater and heels are all linked at the top and bottom of the blog post:) Have a great rest of the week!

This skirt is darling! I totally hit the 2-3pm wall. Getting up and walking helps me as well as even standing at my desk instead of sitting.
