One of my top questions I get is about work appropriate foot wear, specifically flats! How do you style flats for work? What are your go to flats that can be dressed up or down? Do you prefer ballet flats or loafers? What are a pair of comfy flats I can wear all day to work? For the past couple years, I have been wearing these Sam Edelman loafers! When I got these loafers it was during the spring so I went with the white option, they have ton of different colors and have been eyeing the beige ones for some time. I love how comfy they are and easy to slide on with most things.
For the spring and summer a loafer is a great option for a work wear flat! They are more breathable than a sneaker and closed toed compared to a sandal. I know there are a number of office environments where you can’t wear an open toe. Personally I don’t mind an open toe but for those places were you can’t I would really stick with pumps, loafers or mules as work footwear options!
If you haven’t added a loafer to your staple work wear closet yet, I would highly recommend it! They can be dressed up or down depending on the work environment. Which means you can create many different looks with them. There have been a number of times I have styled my loafers with work pants instead of jeans to be more professional. To be honest, I don’t really wear them with skirts or work dresses very often because I love to wear a heel with those pieces. But doesn’t mean it still couldn’t be really cute!
