Getting Started On Your Wedding Registry

To help you get started on your wedding registry, I thought I would share some items we added to ours! To be honest we really didn’t “need” any of these things. While I like to keep things very traditional especially for our wedding, I didn’t really go the traditional route for the wedding registry. Picking out china patterns and having tons of cups and plates didn’t really seem like anything we needed or wanted. I really love my mom’s china pattern from her wedding so I said I would gladly take it from her when she no longer wants it:)

When it came to start looking into what we wanted on our wedding registry, we both agreed we really didn’t need cups, plates and napkins. We both have had apartments/homes so between the two of us, we have enough kitchen stuff to fill an entire house haha. When we sat down to look at the different wedding registry options, we both agreed that TravelersJoy and Amazon would be best for us! It gave our guests an opportunity to put money towards our honeymoon or give a gift that we actually were going to use.

WHERE WE REGISTERED:

TravelersJoy

Amazon

TravelersJoy was a really awesome wedding registry idea for us as we had planned a pretty big honeymoon! Originally we were just planning on using TravelersJoy as our only registry. We didn’t need tons of little items and wanted to put money towards our honeymoon instead. TravelersJoy is great because guests can purchase pick an adventure, hotel, travel, etc. to help cover your costs. Right after our wedding, I closed the registry and transferred the money via Paypal.

We ended up adding the Amazon wedding registry once we moved our date to January (#covidbride). There were some guests who reached out wanting ideas on something they could give us. We decided to sit down and add items to an Amazon registry that we thought we might actually need. Right around when we did this, we had just started the new build process for our house so we figured there were going to be some items that could come in handy.

The reason for titling this blog post, “Getting Started On Your Wedding Registry” is to give you ideas on where we started. Through looking at what others put on their registry and searching through tons of places to register at, it’s all about what you and your significant other need/use. We ended up adding in items that Jeremy could use in the backyard like the strimmer and blower. I hadn’t seen that on any other registries but Jeremy uses both of them every week!

Leave a comment on what you added to your registry and used the most! Hopefully other brides can find it useful to add to theirs:)
