It is getting hot in here! Dallas has fully heated up and the humidity is real. Like really real. You step outside and get hit with a wave of moisture that feels like it could suffocate you. But here I am still needing to dress up professionally without looking like I was drenched head to toe with water.
The challenge for summer work wear is one moment you are outside sweating on every inch of your body trying to wear as little clothing as possible. Then the next moment you are sitting inside freezing cold, trying not to shake during meetings. It is a constant battle I feel I will never win.
This is where linen clothing has started to appear more and more in my work wear closet! The material is breathable and light so you don’t feel like you are wearing tons of layers. We all know blazers are my favorite work wear item. Naturally, I had to start there with a linen piece which then lead into linen pants. I haven’t ventured into a linen top yet because they can be a bit too casual for my environment.
The linen look I am wearing above is a great way to be the summer heat while still looking professional. My loafers are also an outer linen material which completes the look quite nicely.
