Happy Wednesday! I am so glad to be back in the states but missing London more than I thought I would. There is something so special about the city and even though I have been numerous times I love to explore every inch of it. We had about 24 hours in the city before our flight home and we spend all of it running around. I snapped a few pictures from our day to share with ya’ll:)
This post is broken up into different areas of London that I think are worth exploring to help plan your next trip to the city! I share at the end of each of the photos things to do in the area plus little personal notes:)
Trafalgar Square
Every time I come to London we normally always start the day off in Trafalgar Square. I’m not entirely sure why haha but there is so much history there that it’s the perfect place to start! On a good day there are tons of people buzzing about and street artists entertaining people. Right behind the fountain is the National Gallery which I recommend going inside only if you have time. It takes a while to walk through the full place and you will want to take your time doing it. My favorite thing here is grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting by the fountain while people watching!
The London Eye & Big Ben
Did you even go to London if you didn’t see Big Ben or the London Eye?? Unfortunately, Big Ben was under construction which I had literally no clue about so that was super disappointing haha. Still worth the sight;) The Westminster Bridge is a beautiful place to take a picture with the London Eye in the background or the Houses of Parliament!
I have gotten questions about if The London Eye is worth it… To be completely honest YES!! If you have never done it, try and carve out a morning where you wake up at the crack of dawn and head to the ticket office. The lines by the afternoon will be hours long so your best bet is to try in the morning. The views you get of London are absolutely incredible though! I did it many years ago but I have not been back up since.
If you are a big fan of the Royal family then be sure to check out Westminster Abbey right next to Big Ben! This is where Kate Middleton was married to Prince William and the inside is completely breathtaking!! Since it’s an Abbey it doesn’t take long to look around at all.
Hungerford Bridge & Victoria Embankment Gardens
From The London Eye, we walked around the Hungerford Bridge to the Victoria Embankment Gardens where we sat and ate lunch! This is a small garden with flowers, lawn chairs and coffee shops. It was the perfect little place for a quick rest before continuing our adventure. Another place we would have loved to stop is Covent Garden! I have been before but this time it just slipped my mind. It’s a wonderful little place to walk around and they have restaurants/shops with flower carts everywhere!
Oxford Street
Who here loves to shop?? Okay so basically all of us! This street will fill your wildest dreams haha. It is one massive street filled with literally every single store you could think of:) The top 3 places I always pop into while we are here is Primark (super cheap clothing but you can find some really cute things), New Look and TopShop!! Plus if your looking to splurge on some designer brands then they have those stores as well. If your visiting during the winter time around Christmas, you will see all the store windows decorated with beautiful Christmas decor. It’s honestly magical just to walk around!
Camden Town
Now this place might not be on every list for the “Must See Places In London” but it was somewhere we were told to go for the crowds! Looking at pictures I was kind of skeptical about going but it was honestly a pleasant surprise. This area is very young with tons of people wondering around. It is more of that boho style place with street vendors and fresh juice stands with some really great pubs/bars! We watched the England game here at one of the pubs which got a little rowdy haha. Also, a fun little fact about Camden Town is street vendors sell dupes for designer brands EVERYWHERE!! I was shocked at how real everything looked so if your looking to grab a couple things I would head there.
Primrose Hill & Regents Park
The very last place we got to that day was Primrose Hill & Regents Park! There isn’t a ton to do in Primrose Hill unless your looking to take some great instagram photos;) There you will find all the beautiful colored homes lining the streets! Regents Park is a wonderful park to grab a cup of coffee and wonder around. They had cricket games going on while we were there so we sat and watched for a while and then continued through the park. In the park there is Queen Mary’s Gardens which is so beautiful. They have all bright colored flowers everywhere!!

Thank you for sticking around for this super long post! If your looking for advice on what areas to stay shoot me an email and I can point you in the right direction. I don’t have tons of restaurant recommendations other than book a reservation in the Sketch Tea room in advance. I thought I was going to be able to walk in but apparent you have to book well in advance!
Hannah it is gorgeous there! I love all of your pictures – they are giving me some serious Wonderlust!!
