Black T-Shirt: Nordstrom ($16!!) // White Pants: J.Crew // Heels: Marc Fisher // Laptop Case: Barrington Gifts // Sunglasses: Nordstrom ($15!!)
I have a little secret to tell… this is my very first plain black t-shirt I have ever owned. You’re probably confused as to what I have against black t-shirts but in all honesty I am much more of a color girl. Even with work wear I feel there is no energy in an outfit if it doesn’t have a bit of color!
Over the past couple months, I have been working on building my staple work wear items. That means letting go of all my color obsession and focusing on those sophisticated/timeless items wear all year round. It dawned on me the other day that I had never tried a little black t-shirt with any of my work clothes. I loved the idea that it could be casual but still sophisticated. So I set out on a mission to find a good black t-shirt.
Of course Nordstrom came through with this adorably soft t-shirt for less than $20! I was thrilled with how it looked styled next to white pants and can’t wait to try it out with skirts/blazers. I definitely see this t-shirt being a great staple to add to your work wear closet.
What other recommendations for styling a t-shirt at work do you have? I am all ears! Leave a comment below:)
