Dress: Free People // Wedges: Michael Kors (Old, Newer Version HERE) // Bag: Charming Charlie // Lips: Mac Lipstick “Twig”
I have mentioned a couple times on my instagram stories that I don’t shop brands like Free People unless they are on sale! To be completely honest I don’t see the need to buy a $200 dress unless I am going to a formal event. While I love Free People and other top brands like it I resist the urge to grab the item the first time I see it! This is how I score some of their full priced items on sale even when they are in season. Below I am going to share my little tricks for finding the deals so you can still have the brands you want!
Tip 1. Don’t buy the moment you see it! This is the reason I absolutely love shopping online besides getting my be in my pjs haha. If you see something you love on one retailers website copy the name of the item and throw it into Google! They have a whole shop widget that will show up and you can browse other websites for that same item!! Most of the time Google will also tell you if the retailer has a coupon code you can use. You will be shocked at how often you find the same item at one retailer for full price and go to another and find it for 25%-50% off!
Tip 2. Buy in the off season! I have been working on this one because it is so hard to buy sweaters when its 100 degrees outside haha. But you will be surprised what you can find when its not in season! When we were going to Hawaii in the winter, I found a ton of summer free people items for 60% off so now I have all of it to wear during the summer and didn’t pay over $40 for most items.
Tip 3. Shop at Macy’s! No this isn’t sponsored but I swear they have the best deals! They also sell Free People, Steve Madden, Sam Edelman and many more items that I don’t like to pay full price if I don’t have too. I got this FP babydoll dress from Macy’s when they were having their weekend sale and I only paid $50 for it:)
Tip 4. Head to the store! Okay so hear me out… I am not one for facing traffic just to get to the mall to find a ton more people but every once in a while the sales in store are WAYY better than the ones online! A lot of stores are struggling the bring customers off of online and get them to the store so they offer really good deals in store. Also if you shop Lululemon then you know each store has different items on sale which is great because you can find some really awesome deals!
I might be the only person who gets a buzz from saving money haha… too much? But really I love seeing how much I can save on brand names. It helps me justify the purchase a little bit more:) Plus when Jeremy asks how much it was I always lead with “It was on sale”;)
Would love to hear if you have any tips for saving on brand names!! Have a great rest of the week!
