Happy Wednesday!! I gotta be honest, my beauty kick didn’t really start until quarantine happened. My skincare routine prior to quarantine was good, or so I thought. Once quarantine happened, I really started to look into the beauty and skincare products I was using from Sephora. My skin is really sensitive and using new products on it scared me so much. I either broke out or it would get really dehydrated because I would try random things without actually looking into them. Once I had a little bit more time on my hands, I started doing more research and have been trying new things for the past couple months.
Through the month of August, I have been trying new products from Sephora that range from hair, skin and make up! Below I share each item and my own personal review of them:)
OUAI SUPER DRY SHAMPOO
I gotta be honest, I was really skeptical about this product. I had tried their Dry Shampoo mouse and it did nothing for my hair. But the smell was incredible. It lasted all day which is what really drew me to their products. But this Super Dry Shampoo did the trick for me!! I am hooked not only on the smell but how it works. I work out in the morning during the weeks and getting a chance to fully shower before work is really hard. So I love to use this after rinsing off my body in the shower!
LIVING PROOF FULL DRY VOLUME
I have been using this full dry volume from Living Proof for many years! This was a repurchase this month but had to share. I love to use this after I have styled my hair! It adds a beautiful amount volume to your hair and smells good too. I simply divide my at the vary top and then spray all around the crown of my head to give the top a volume boost without teasing!
OLAPLEX HAIR PERFECTOR
I purchased this in March and used it once. I didn’t immediately fall in love with it after just one use. But this month I really wanted to give it ago. Turns out it is amazing!! I love how my hair feels after using and how healthy it looks! If you are struggling with getting to the hair dresser right now then I high recommend getting a bottle of this hair perfector. I have heard it helps a lot with colored hair. While I don’t color my hair, it helps me with the ends of my roots!
OLAPLEX BONDING OIL
After really falling for the Olaplex hair perfector, I ran into Sephora to get their bonding oil! I use it after I get out of the shower when my hair is still wet. You only need a few drops so it lasts a really long time! I put a few in the palm of my hand, rib it between my hands and then comb through the lower half of ends. It helps to keep my ends healthy spots it from frizzing!!
TAN-LUXE THE FACE
I couldn’t go through summer without this little bottle of joy! Since I don’t have to go into the office, I have spent a lot of the summer without make up on. I use this to help boost my face to have that healthy summer glow! It’s AMAZING and I can’t recommend it enough. I simply use 3 drops in the morning and rub it all over my face. After I apply my moisturizer and bam you have a great summer glow. It’s a little pricer than I would love but it actually does last a really long time!
KIEHL’S CALENDULA WATER CREAM
We all know how much I love Kiehl’s products! I had heard a couple people rave about this and was a little curious. I didn’t know how I would feel about the gel like cream. Turns out I actually really like the consistency and how smooth it applies to your skin.
SUMMER FRIDAY JET-LAG MOISTURIZER
I first used this on an overnight flight to Europe and my life was forever changed! Whenever I take long flights, my skin freaks out. I break out and my whole face feels dry. So I decided to do a mini skincare routine on the plane using this really hydrating moisturizer. It kept my skin feeling amazing and ever since then I have loved using it, especially during the summer because I am out in the sun. It’s so smooth and doesn’t feel sticky when applying. I love to wear this on my no makeup days!
SUMMER FRIDAY LIP BUTTER BALM
After falling in love with their jet lag mask from Summer Friday, I was excited to see them bring out a lip balm. I have shared before, but I have eczema around my mouth which makes my lips super dry. Since the jet lag moisturizer was so hydrating, I was really hoping the lip balm was too. Turns out it is! I love using this morning and night to keep my lips super hydrated. It’s not super thick and isn’t sticky at all.
SUPERGOOP UNSEEN SUNSCREEN SPF 40
Like I mentioned above my skin is really sensitive and I struggle with sunscreens especially on my face. I read how clean this sunscreen was and was super eager to check it out. With normal sunscreens I get small lumps all over my face and then it all becomes very itchy. It’s not pretty at all. With this sunscreen I have no issues at all and I can even wear it under my make up! It acts a lot like a primer!!
LAURA MERCER TRANSLUCENT POWDER
Last product is a good one and one I can’t go without when applying make up. Even if it’s just a quick foundation and mascara, I love to throw this over the top to matte my foundation to last all day! The powder is light and sets really well with cc cream, tinted moisturizer and full coverage foundation.
