Happy Wednesday Friends! This past weekend I shared on Instagram that I was in Fredericksburg, TX for a girls weekend. It was so much fun getting to hang out with these girls who are truly beautiful inside and out. We drank too much wine, talked about life and much more. I came away from that weekend so inspired!
This was my first time going and when we got back I told Jeremy we need to do a weekend getaway downtown there. The town is such a cute little place and you honestly don’t feel like you are in Texas at all! Fredericksburg is only 4 hours from Dallas so it’s the perfect distance for a weekend or even longer.
After sharing the weekend with y’all many requested a Fredericksburg, TX travel guide. So today I wanted to provide all the details of where we stayed, where we ate, and what winery’s we went too!
Where To Stay
There are many different Airbnb’s you can stay at down there but I recommend getting on close to the main street. That way everything is walking distance and you don’t have to drive too much. We stayed in the Absolute Charm Airbnb’s, which I would high recommend! They were super easy to work with and the place we got was beautiful. It had plenty of room for everyone with additional bedrooms upstairs and in the back of the house. So depending on your party size, they should sleep everyone comfortably!
Where To Eat
In Fredericksburg, there are plenty of places to dine! We couldn’t eat at all of them but the places we went to were amazing. Since we had a large party, we made reservations ahead of time to make sure the restaurants could accommodate us. {Also side note, most restaurants don’t split checks just FYI}
Brunch Options:
- First place we went to for brunch on Saturday was Sunset Grill. It was adorable and the food was really good. The place was packed but we did get seated pretty quickly.
- On Sunday, we went to Emma + Ollie! It was this sweet little home and had a great back patio. The food was so so good and the staff were amazing. Definitely grab their beignets if you have room because they are delicious!
Dinner Options:
- We ended up going to a small little Mexican restaurant for dinner on Saturday called Mamacita’s. We were craving mexican food and this was the first place we saw. The place was full and the food was good! Can’t go wrong with mexican though:)
- Many of y’all actually sent over recommendations and the one I got the most was Vaudeville. Looks really fancy so if you are looking for a nice dinner, this might be your place!
Where To Wine
Now for the best part… WINE! What everyone comes to Fredericksburg, TX for:) If you plan on drinking while you are there, it’s always best to play it safe. So not driving yourself when going from winery too winery. There are winery tours you can do where you load into a bus and have someone drive you from one to the other! Personally, I think this is such a great option because they pick out the winery’s to take you too. Which gives you a chance to see different ones!
The winery tour we did was called AC Wine Tours. It is done through Absolute Charm who hosted us in their Airbnb’s for the weekend. Barry was our driver and he put up with a lot from a group of 10 women haha. He took us to 3 different vineyards/wineries in Fredericksburg and all were amazing! The 3 we went to were Hilmy Cellars, Signor Vineyards (this place was a dream) and Lost Draw Cellars.
IRecommendations on wineries to go to from my readers were Baron’s Creek Vineyard, Pontotoc Vineyard Weingarte, and The Wine Garage.
